I have always been a liquid foundation kind of girl and these mousse foundations from Essence have really caught my eye. A few people have recommended that I try them out and I finally have. Here is what I thought of using the Essence Soft Touch Mousse Make-up and using mousse foundation for the first time.
This was the first mousse foundation that I have ever tried and up until now I didn’t really know what the difference was, but turns out that there is a huge difference between a liquid foundation and mousse foundation.
A mousse foundation is more light and smooth and it tends to give you more of a matte finish. Seeing that it provides you with a matte finish, there is no need for additional powder which can save you time and money. A mousse foundation is also a better option if you have oily skin (something I struggle with) and it will leave your complexion looking gorgeous and shine free.
Since this was the first time using a mousse foundation, I was really not too sure how the texture would be and if it would be difficult to apply and blend, but as I started swatching these foundations and applying my favourite one to my face, I found the texture to be absolutely lovely and so easy to apply.
The texture of this mousse foundation is really light and fluffy and you can apply it with ease onto your face using your fingers. This really blends well and I had no streaks or dark patches on my skin after applying it. I also find that when you are using this, you need a lot less product to provide you with excellent coverage, so even though the jar might seem on the small side, you will get a lot of use out of it.
I really love the smooth and gorgeous cover that this mousse foundation provides and I find that oily skin is a problem of the past when using this. I tend to struggle with a very oily temple area and after applying this my face was shine free.
Another thing that is amazing about this mousse foundation is the fact that it comes in a wide range of colours sure to suit most skin tones. Essence is always updating their make-up collections with new shades to match your skin tone perfectly and they have added three new gorgeous shades to this range: A Caramel Shade, Mahogany Shade and my personal favourite, a Porcelain Shade. You can get this product for R69.95, which is an amazing and affordable price for what you get out of it.
I have swatched each of these gorgeous shades for you to show you how the Soft Touch Mousse Make-up looks:
Essence 09 matt porcelain mousse make-up
Essence 02 matt beige mousse make-up
Essence 50 matt caramel mousse make-up
Essence 60 matt mahogany mousse make-up
I am so happy that the first mousse foundation I got to try was this great one from Essence. I have found that this mousse foundation provides excellent coverage, lasts all day long and it’s a really affordable option.
